Structuring regional creative ecosystems
Connecting hubs and incubators across six countries so that equipment, curricula and audiences travel further than any single institution could carry them.
Creation Africa · Réseau des hubs créatifs
Seven institutions. Seven cities. Six countries. One network of high-performance creative studios open to animators, filmmakers, game developers, XR artists and musicians across East Africa — book a workstation at the hub nearest you.

Who we are
The East Africa Creative Hubs Network brings together the creative hubs of the French cultural network — Alliance Française, Institut Français and the French Embassy — under Creation Africa. Members share equipment, programmes, audiences and market access across Addis Ababa, Nairobi, Mombasa, Kampala, Dar es Salaam and Kigali, with a seventh hub in development in Djibouti Ville.
Each hub gives creatives in the digital sector access to high-performance machines for computer-intensive work — 3D and animation rendering, colour grading, game builds, XR and immersive production, sound design — alongside incubation, mentorship and showcase platforms.
Our objectives & approach
The network exists to move creatives from practice to livelihood — and to make the route between the two shorter.
Connecting hubs and incubators across six countries so that equipment, curricula and audiences travel further than any single institution could carry them.
Incubation, technical and business training, mentorship and working space — supporting creatives to build studios and businesses, not only portfolios.
Mobility support, showcase platforms, festival and industry access, and partnerships with the French and European creative ecosystems.
Our services

Stories from the network

Founded in 2024 with Alliance Française de Nairobi and the French Embassy in Kenya, the hub gives the city's animators, editors and game developers access to machines fast enough for the work they were already trying to do — alongside mentorship, incubation and market access.

Supported by
The network is an initiative of the French Government, delivered through Création Africa with the Alliance Française and Institut Français across East Africa.
